Transmission SVX

Hello there,

I have a question about the transmission.
Can i put the JDM (RHD) tranny in a european (LHD) type?
Or do i have to change something?

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter,

I think it should be possible but there is a small problem that the JDM transmission has a different type of speed sensor.

There is a thread about this here:
http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=31506

I'm sure that Joe will give you more information as he has tried this himself.

Phil.

Hello Peter

The thread link that Phil gave, it says it all really. You need to read and absorb it.

The easiest way to make yours work is to fit the speed sensor INSIDE the gearbox from your old box into the JDM box. You will have to connect the two wires to the loom [do you call them looms or cords in Holland??] on the left hand side of the gearbox looking forward.

The JDM box will have a different type of speed sensor 1 in the front diff right beside the diff dipstick. As your LHD Euro wiring and Euro TCU and ECU will not accept signals from this front speed sensor [A Japanese one or a USA one would be set up to accept these signals], your easiest path is to install the type of sensor in the box that your wiring and computers are set up to accept. I think it shows how in that thread.

Joe
