Throttle Thoughts...
Will a faulty TPS give an intermittent Check Engine light? Here's the problem:
Sometimes when I start the car I have a check engine light that lasts for about a minute or until I start driving. However, yesterday I noticed a correlation between the check engine light being on and horrible throttle response. The car will bog when I hit the gas then, the light will go off and the engine will spin up to where it should be. This is only an intermittent problem like I said, but I suspect the TPS (I have some light throttle slippage too) Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks.

I recommend following the directions (in the how-to locker) for reading the codes the ECU has stored. Write the stored codes down and then erase them from the ECU's memory. See which ones come back after a couple days.
The reason I recommend that you erase them from the car is that it could be storing irrelevant old fault codes. If you really have something wrong, after a day or two it'll store new codes that refer directly to the problem at hand. If you tell us which faults it's storing, we can probably figure out which ones are relevant and I imagine they'll tell you exactly what the problem is.

In the words of the Guinness guy...Brilliant! I thought that if the computer was storing codes, the light would remain lit all of the time. I will check the codes and report my findings as soon as it stops raining around here. Thanks.
