As far as Passive 4WS goes, it depends if you accept the marketing definition or the engineering definition of the word "steering". In the early days of this website it was the subject of a very heated discussion which makes quite entertaining reading if you like that sort of thing. What I can tell you, since I own both types, is that IMHO the active 4WS version is significantly better at high-speed cornering than the standard version.

Your car looks like a 4WS to me because of the black leather seats. The standard model has grey suede panels on the seats. When you turn the key it should light up 4WS on the top left of the dash for a second.

Ok lets laugh at me
Hello
Lol Ok, so I Just learned of the 4WS models' existence last night as I read more into these cars. Its funny and it was all new for me last night as I stumbled first on the rumor sites and threads on the net and how it was unraveled slowly by the translation of the instruction manual and its photos of the JDM versions etc...,then I looked at the dates posted and realized it was like reading the wrong morning paper...lol If yours is the 4WS model tan good score. I am now jealous of the 4WS version even though I have yet to get my LSi yet but I would not want a RHD car. Did they ever make any LHD 4WS examples? I assume those parts should they require replacement would be even more of a nightmare to find. Regards Max |

I like the old yellow 73 subaru in the background, I had a 74 two door coupe and loved it.
