security module, swap with newer subaru module possible?

So, has anyone on here removed the non working oem security module, and replaced it with say one from a 98-00 forester, outback, etc?

What is the pinout for the module? I can see this working for the trunk mounted ones like in my 97.
thoughts? mine was working when i got the car, but in the time between then and now, either my fob broke or batteries dead, and now I cannot get it to go back into programming mode.

I just want it for the keyless lock unlock….

I just upgraded my security system so i have a control box and 2 keyfobs that are programed for it already. $150 for all three if you want them.

No worries, it's not going anywhere anytime soon. Just ping me when if/when you want it and i'll have it boxed up and ready to send.
