Engine Speed PS Sensor

Hey all,
Anybody know where I can find
Oil Level Sensor - Subaru (34428PA000)
I see Subaru has discontinued the part. I REALLY need to find one even if I have to buy an entire Power Steering Pump!

Please help! The SVX is a heavy car and driving it without power steering really sucks!

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Engine Speed PS Sensor

I don't think the switch is the cause of your lack of power steering. The switch tells the engine to raise the idle speed when the wheel is turned to full lock to stop it from stalling.

Re: Engine Speed PS Sensor

Hi, Blacky.

Yes, it's the switch... because the switch is missing!
It broke while rebuilding the pump :-(

So, if you have one or know where I MIGHT look, I'd surely appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mark

I agree with Blacky, it's not the switch, it will work without it.
Who rebuilt the pump?

Re: Engine Speed PS Sensor

.
It is not a switch as such. It is a sensor and in order to state facts, even though it is obvious that it provides a signal circuit to ground, one needs to know how it operates in connection with the control unit.

It has been stated ---"Yes, it's the switch... because the switch is missing!"

Surely this must mean that the the pump is probably not oil tight and that the problem does not involve electrics ?
