Sorry to hear about your troubles Joe. Hope that's the last of them.

This has been my philosophy each time I've picked it up from the shop. I'd take it easy for a little while, being wary, paranoid . . . call it what you will. But, as confidence increased, so did the need to turn her loose to do what she was made to do. I've had to live with the renewed philosophy of "if she's gonna break, she's gonna break and I'll just have to fix 'er." Just keep the shiny side up and you'll be okay, Joe. Let 'er rip.

There's times it can be bent, and times it can't be bent, know what I mean??

It all depends on how careful you are with the tie-down ropes.

Phil will expand on that for you

And yes, painful either way.

Joe

If I thought the tranny was not going to give me 40K miles service at this point, I might put her on the market, and buy something sensible. Like a Maserati or a Ferrari.

However, I like that "flying at ground level" feeling so much, I will persevere. At least as long as my missus tolerates the drain on the bank!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, doesn't the word "bent" mean something totally different on your side of the pond?

(This, of course, coming from someone named "Randy." We won't even bothering adding "Johnson" to the list. )

When a large gentlemen with a lorry and a winch pulls on it, it bends - and snaps in half!

Phil.

We won't go into that. Phil and I are having a technical discussion here, no need to lower the tone [any lower than we already lowered it ]

As for allusions to your name, I'll reserve judgement till I can check with Shari if it's deserved or earned.

Joe

Hi Joe,

I am quite sure you are not bent . As it is Friday 13 and as I was born on a thirteenth I take this opportunity of wishing you the best of luck and may all the gremlins go to hell. I very nearly typed " go down under " to be nice and correct, then realized this was one hell of a blue !

Special regards, Trevor. *<)

Hello Trevor

Well now if you were born on the 13th, then it can't be all that unlucky, can it?

Thanks for the good wishes. The same to you mate, and as for the gremlins, we will just them away!

My car is running well now except for one strangeness which it used to do before. If I accelerate powerfully away from a right turn junction, it seems to slip as it makes the change up to 2. Has done this once on a tight roundabout also. A bit bothered by it, as the slippage can only do harm.

I thought perhaps of the oil level, and fluid possibly missing the pump scavenger, but why would that not happen on left turns also??

Any ideas??

Joe

Pump scavenge

You could be on the right track. The pick up may not be central and therefore only one side is effected but this does seem strange. Shoot Harvey a PM as he appears to have done a lot of study regarding the transmission set up and knows what he is talking about.

My wife and I were married on the 13th and our wedding anniversary occasionallly falls on a Friday, as I'm sure Trevor's birthday does. That was 26 years ago (working on 27).

With those two evidences, the history books should change to erase this silly superstition.
