My car is a piece of ****!

Yes! Literally! It's an AWD dustball, a heap of dirt, a magnet of incomplete molecules, a giant gray mass with hints of Bordeaux in it.

I use high pressure water, shampoo, waxes, more water.. the car is pristine clean and after 5 minutes of driving it's back to being one giant piece of ****!

Apart from that it's great

Anyone else got this problem? Should I perform a thorough 50 hour detailing with all kinds of treatments, waxing and the works? Will it actually help?

I suspect my car is so charged it just clings to all dust in the world.

Wash car, apply Meguiars NXT synthetic wax, let sit overnight, wipe off with microfiber towel. Works as both a wax and sealer. Do it 2-3 times a year.

My car always looks clean, but it doesnt hurt that its silver.

mine is that dark teal and it only looks clean for maybe an hour if i drive it

i don't think Chicago construction doesn't help either with all that dust

Guys, granted any black car is hard to keep sparkling clean, but when it is, there is no other shine like it. Ive owned several black cars, and especially this time of year with tree pollen its tuff. Just give it a good wash once a week and a good wax two or three times a year. I keep a California duster in my car, and just wipe off the dust when its still clean. Once it rains or gets wet, you gotta wash it all over again before using the duster. White is the best color for not seeing dust and pollen. My favorite car colors are whites, blacks, and red shades. No reason to sell the beloved svxi because of this.

I have been driving my SVX daily, and I wipe it down with Detailer spray every day before I leave my office. If you keep up with that, you never have to wash the car.

Are you looking for a full detail guild? I can write one up if there is enough interest. It takes me 10-12 hours to do everything though. Just doing a simple wax with Meguiars or Mothers is adequate. But you have to devote some time and money if you want your car to truly shine.

Thats insane!

I used to do a full detail wash/polish/wax once or twice a year, but that usually took two days and broke my back. Now i claybar once, NXT wax once or twice, and just Zipwax all the other times.

After 3 black cars, silver is so much nicer. There are certain cars i would only buy in black, though.

I recently tried the Autoglym product line. A wash, wax, and polish. (they have many more products)
I am very happy with the results.
