What are your record without failures or problems?

Well, this month my Svx accomplishes 3 years without any problem or unexpected failure that suppose a visit to my repairman. Only an annual routine inspection: filters, oil, fluids...and nothing more.
Visiting this site, I can considerate myself fortunate. My little wonder seems full of energy!

What have been your longer time without any mechanical, electrical or any kind of problem in your Svx you can remember?

mine is 10 years -

2002 - cam belt, water pump & usual small stuff.

2008 - indicator bulb changed

2010 - set of tyres Eagle F1 Asymmetric

oil changed every 6 months regardless of how many times I drive it - currently sitting at 138,000kms for 1995 model.

K&N air filter cleaned every Feb (my birthday month - so easy to remember).

Re: What are your record without failures or problems?

I went years with the 92.
Had its problems
Major ones
Front brake hose collapse wore out a set of brakes in a week
Both front cv joints
A bad fuel injector
Leaking gas line
Rusted trough ps lines,
O ring on ps pump
Power window master switch
Not bad over a period of 17 years.
Wife's Acura is 5 years old and almost spent that much on hers, coming up on timing belt replacement and major tune up.$$$$$$$

10 months.

During this time it was sitting in the garage on 4 stilts with the transmission out.

Didn't have a single problem!

3 years... WOW. Just wondering if you would share the miles you drove in 3 years. I drove one of mine 150K in 3 years, but aa few problems were "in the mix"

Thanks,
Keith

Seriously - 50,000 miles in a year??? That means you drove on average 137 miles a day every day for three years!

Re: What are your record without failures or problems?

We have a 2010 Outback that is 16 months old. The odometer just turned 100,000 miles. Not one problem.

It's hard to believe that her mileage will surpass the mileage on my 16 yr. old polo by early summer.

Just glad not to be putting the mileage on the SVX. Only 900 miles last year. Commuting takes up all my free time, an occasionally my desire to drive at all.

Or maybe at least 200 miles a day for at least 5 days a week.

That kind of daily mileage just amazes me, hope it's worth it.

Now I don't feel so bad that our 2010 outback has 40,000 on it already!

Re: What are your record without failures or problems?

I'm just coming up to a year without a problem of any sort.

A year ago new MAF and new valve covers and a comprehensive tune up, and a new paint job. Prior to that, it sat covered in a garage for 3 years.

Currently no leaks, no rattles, no weirdness that I'm aware of. However, I am always aware that something could go wrong at any time in this quirky 20 year-old car.

Re: What are your record without failures or problems?

My old girl turns 20 this year and has just clocked up 60,000Kms. She's well cared for and I've had zero problems.

The daily driver is a 2004 Legacy R30. It's approaching 120,000Kms and is in excellent condition apart from a dodgy wire on the trip computer...
