18x9" wheels

I wonder if 18x9" wide wheel with +42 mm /OT would fit a "stock" SVX w/o rubbing..???

Yes it will! The problems might occur if you add the tire.

I test fit some Cobra rims 17x9 with only a 28 offset and they stuck out about 3-4 inches. With tires I don't think it would even roll.

That offset would stick out on a 8" wide rim, that is too much pushed out for most newer cars.
