Re: under the hood...
More power out of the EG33 is doable, but not too easily or cheaply (plus you have a ~250 HP cap unless you go to some form of aftermarket engine management). If you want to up the fun factor of your car consider a manual transmission swap and some suspension work. I'm not trying to discourage, it's awesome to see people putting in the effort to get the potential out of our cars, but it's not the easiest thing in the world.

Re: under the hood...
whatever hp gain route you choose good luck, I find it financially difficult just to keep the svx running well in stock form!!

Re: under the hood...
If you really want the inexpensive route to more "power", do this.
Rip every square inch of interior out, remove the dash and everything back there that doesnt have wires going to it, buy lightweight racing seats, buy a carbon fiber hood (or just drive without one), remove everything in the trunk (except with wires going to it), remove airbag and seatbelts (safety, pffff), you may even consider clamping the windows closed and ripping out the motors (weigh a ton). Always drive with a 1/8 tank of gas MAXIMUM, and never refill your coolant reservoir or your washer fluid. After taking these steps, you should immediately feel an increase in acceleration, braking, and cornering, although with the seatbelts gone you might want to tape a lightweight racing pillow on the steering wheel. |
