Cool Svx & Maserati

Got home today & what should be parked a few doors down, A Maserati GT Spyder. Since it and the SVX are both designed by Giugiaro I just had to see if there was a family resemblance. What do you think?

what I want to know is what the guy was thinking as you repeatedly parked your car in different spots and took photos...

Your SVX much prettier than the Maserati, which is too stubby for my liking.

The Maserati resembles a stubby Prelude ragtop - Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I'll betcha' he paid more than 20 SVX trannies would cost!

Ron.

headlights, mirrors, wheels. Yep They are both cars...

I still like the svx better, but if someone were to give me a choice the two for free, i would take the maserati, then sell, and buy 2 svx.

To my eye, the Maser is chunkier looking and it shouldn't be for a 2 seater.

SVX vs Maser

To my mind the SVX simply appears more purposeful , ie the lines suggest more of what the car is designed for . The Maserati Coupe GT certainly looks better than the convertible , wonder what a convertible SVX would look like ?

Man, that thing DOES look stubby. SVXs look GOOD. I can't wait to get one.

Hum Convertable SVX, now there's an idea. Who was it at the meet in Lafayette who put 2 wrecked SVX's together to make one? Maybe he want's a new project!

i do like the coupe version, but that ragtop doesn't look right. i never did like convertibles, anyway. how about a targa-top SVX? also, those wheels on the Mas are really stupid looking! i wouldn't try racing him- those things are VERY fast!

One of the guys came over to my house last week (nighttime) to pick up some stuff...1992 white/black roof.

I was not home at the time but when I got home, not only was everyone going "there was an SVX here...they look heaps better in real life" *nb: I insist on showing them catalogues...my family have lost all hope for me!* but in addition to being impressed, had thought that it was a convertible (black roof, glass, nightime).

THey would look awesome as a convertible but then the windows would be lost!!

Unless something like a BMW Bauer convertible/Jag XJS configuation - the centre section of the roof is fabric, the side remain as is.

I'll take this Maserati...

This particular one looks a lot better in that picture than it does in person, unfortunately.

Cool Forget 2 seater ragtops

I keep saying this car, the Maserate Quattroporte, is the only realistic 4-seat performance replacement from an SVX.

http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/use...entialist|4129

Does not have AWD, but has enough power to scare you good, and get you to do some racing tuition!

Joe

PS Guigiaro makes interesting designs, some beautiful, some Metal Monsters. The Quattroporte is styled by Michel Gandini, and is a very elegant and understated wedge.
Just like an SVX
