"Club Sanctioned" meets

One of the other sites I belong to has 3 annual meets. All 3 are "officially sanctioned" by the club. In other words they're allowed to use the logos, and web server space to advertise thier meets. They separate them into three zones, East, Central, and West. Each meet co-incides with a larger car show, or meet. They toss into a hat to pay for show space, and to have banners made. The cost per show rarely exceeds $250.

I'm just throwing this format out there. If it bounces out of sight, so be it. I have to say though, if a bunch of PINTOS can support 3 meets/year, there's no reason we can't!

The eastern meet co-incides with the Carslisle PA Ford meet. The western meet is at the Knotts Berry Farm Ford show. The central meet is usually in OK. I'm not sure what that meet is called. Organizing meets is EASY. Getting confirmation on attendees is hard! I organized the 1st annual PCCA meet, and in 2 years it grew into the 3 meet format.

This works by having meets where everyone can get to them. The primary meet would remain Reading. Then maybe one in Branson MO. And the last one in So-Cal. Finding an existing show to tie in with makes arrangements somewhat easier. At the same time it's tougher on the "drop-ins" who decide at the last minute. They'll have a hard time finding accomodations.

I'm just running this idea up the flagpole to see who salutes.
