SVX versus a black couguar/panther/puma
While, driving home to Chicago through Indiana from Ohio on this past Christmas day at 11PM, I came within 50 feet of hitting a large black leopard/panther/cougar.
I, in my SVX, was headed west bound on the Indiana Tollway and was immediately north of the Notre Dame campus. The cat shot across the road approx 50 feet in front of me heading southbound. It looked at me, I was so close I could see its eyes, sped up to get out of my way, and ran into and across the medium. It was then almost got hit by a car going east bound however it sped up again to get out of that cars way. I immediately called 911 and the man that answered said, "yeah I've seen em. I saw one once eating road kill on a small road around here". He said there is a pig farm in southern Michigan that would frequently get attacked. Last edited by svxpensive; 02-11-2009 at 01:57 PM.

The lift created by your wing/spoiler would have lifted you safely up and over said "cougar" and you would have glided to safety with ne'er a scratch......

We've had a cougar spotted around here numerous times over the past couple years. There was one found dead in Chicago recently and there have also been sightings of ones in Kenosha and Milwaukee.

I did see a cougar-panther on the discovery channel the other night... Wasn't paying a lot of attention and didn't catch where it was from. Could it possibly have been "said" cougar

So, back on Columbus day in 2007 I was driving and a giraffe ran out in front of me, but I, in my SVX, managed to avoid the potentially nasty accident by expertly negotiating through said giraffes legs...
