How to remove the side molds?

I will take the car to be painted and I was thinking to remove the side molds (left&right, next to the trunk).

Does anybody removed them? I can pull them hard but that may damage some clips or plastic anchors.

Can you give me some directions? Thanks.

I think you just pull them off. Problem is that the clips that hold them on always break and you have to get new ones.

you wil 99% likely break clips. Breaking clips is fine though, you can get new ones. Is when you break where the clip mounts to the piece that you have problems.

they need to be PUSHED from near the window back toward the trunk to get them off. trunk needs to be open fr this to work. They shold slide mabey a half inch...from there pry the up

The drivers side, the antenna mount thing needs to be taken off. Youll see two prongs when you look down at it from the top. Ive found needle nose pliars in the two holes works well..unscrew it, and pull the rubber thing off. The rest of the antenna shouldnt interfere

There is a tool/socket for that purpose, Sears might carry it, I know you can get them from the Snap-On or Mac truck too, would suck to slip with the pliers and damage the finish.
