fans not working

ok so back when i hit that curb of "doom", i relized the metal wire running across the radiator got tangled in the fans.. when i clipped off the wire and put the assembly back together, but now they arnt working.... i let it idle for 45 mins and when it got past average temp it kept climbing and the fans didnt even turn on, im not sure if the motors in the fans are bad now or just the relays for the fans, any ideas?

Use a test light or meter to check for voltage at the fan plug. The fans turn on if you set the HVAC to auto, so you don't have to wait for it to get warm.

Check the fuse, if the wiring got tangled, chances are something shorted out.

I don't know what wire you are talking about, but you 'clipped it'.
If I read this as you cut a wire and are now having issues. So then just un-do what you did to the wire. This seems to obvious so what am I missing here.

Which you undoubtedly don't need... is the Subaru dealer. Tacoma subaru is subaruparts.com and if you go over and tell them you want to see the web people, they will give you a good price.
Ebay probably will not have a "new" relay. You might need a new fuse. The price from ebay + shipping and lost time not having the use of your car would probably not work well. Then there is always the chance that the relay you bid on might not last as long ar your present relay will last for you.
Like YourConfused previously said, just undo the damage you did and you should be good!

It seems you might have burned your motors up. I'd say if you got it tangled and they were trying to turn and weren't able to move could have burned the motor up? I'm not sure but something to do is get another fan or 2 (I'm sure having them wont hurt) and test them by plugging them up and turning a/c on.

Check AC fuse

Check the 10 amp AC fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. My fans stopped working after this fuse went.

So do you now know the difference between a fuse and a relay?

Relay: a sort of trigger to allow circuits to connect?
fuse: a metel peice which has currrent flowing through and if the amount of amps that go through exceed the rated amps of that fuse it will blow the circuit.

am i right?

...sounds good to me.

Fuses are designed to "give" to protect the electrical system/components, and relays handle various loads.

Neither do they resemble each other in appearance!
