Yes I did.

When I started it, I got a little anxious/impatient and didn't move the wing back. That would have made it easier to make the transition to the rear window plastic pieces(I forget what they're called).

But what I did was just get a general line looking from the side, then used styrofoam to help shape it out. Then put bondo on it and shaped it out using the bondo.

What I haven't got to start yet was, I'm gonna re-locate the third brake light to inside the wing like the prototype. I'll find the pic I saw it in then post it. I'm also gonna try to make the wing have the same curve as the trunk itself. (Looking down from above the trunk, I want the wing to take that curve).

Also once all of the shaping, sanding, etc. is finished, I might put a layer of fiberglass over to strengthen it up a bit.

I'm excited I can finally work on this more, but it's only cuz my diff decided to blow up the other day

Tell me about it...

I tried to a little bit, but when it's all choppy and rough like in the early pics, its hard to get a good sanding rhythm going. That's when I would whip out the grinder, but it won't fit in that tight area.

I've actually had the idea of doing this bouncing around my head for a while. I think I would probably not bother using the stock wing at all and make one out of foam, then glass over it.

I was thinking of doing that too, but I don't have dense foam, the stuff I have would just break since the wing is so thin.

I think using the stock wing will come out pretty nice once I finish the re-shaping of the back of it.

The real killer of doing this is all the damn sanding I have to do. Just to get the one side to come out like that took me a long time. I'm guessing I'll spend around 20-25 hours just sanding with this project.

I'm more judgemental at the final product, but I think it'll turn out great in the end.

Hocrest, it seems to me that those are his smugglers coves...pretty nifty when you need to hide small stuff

That's what I was worried about. And it probably will happen just from normal flex of the trunk. Now I'm thinking I should put a layer on the bondo after everything's done.
