Oil Leak

Have an oil leak on our 92 Pearlie. There are small pools of oil under the collector on top of the engine. It drips small amount of oil on garage floor on both the right and left side about mid-engine. Also leaves small drips on the driveway when going out. We have pulled the collector and checked everywhere we could but can't find leak. It is not huge but it is constant. Any ideas why there would be oil on top of the engine?

By collector do you mean the intake manifold? You may have a buildup of oil in the IRIS chamber (that ball in the center of the manifold). When was the last time you replaced the PCV valve?

The oil is like a clear yellowish color. Same color as the oil we put in.

Actually the oil pools on top of the engine as well as leaks underneath. The PCV valve was changed about 4 months ago. It has been leaking on the top at least a year. What is IRIS chamber?

If you pull that rectangular piece of plastic off the top of the intake manifold you'll see a spherical thing under it. Inside is a valve, called the IRIS valve. It devides the two halves of the intake, but can open. I'm not sure exactly what that does though. It's been heavily debated here in the past. There is often a small pool of oil in the bottom of the chamber, it just collects there. When I had my alternator out I looked under the intake and could see a fair amount of oil sitting on the engine.

It wouldn't be a small leak out of the oil pressure sending unit would it?
