Rough idle when coasting

Recently I have had a rough idle when coasting. the tac needle goes up and down and i can hear a wroomph wroomph wroomph sound as the engine oscilates between 600-800 rpm. the strange thing is that this only happens when the car is moving without any trottle, as soon as I hit the trottle it goes away. It doesen't matter what posisiton my gear is in. Even in neutral it behaves like this. At the moment i stop the car it goes away and my idle is smooth.

As I have recently swapped out my transmission My guess is that it could be the brake band who needs to be adjusted??

this information was from crazyhorse on a previous post for me

As for your problem. It sounds like the Idle speed control is dirty. It's really a simple matter to fix, especially when caught early. Get a can of GOOD carburetor, or brake parts cleaner. Pull the intake hoses off the throttle body. Hold the throttle open by hand. Spray cleaner liberally into the throttle openings. Allow time for the solvent to evaporate, reinstall the intake hoses, start car for that nice smooth idle.

DO NOT SPRAY CLEANER INTO A RUNNING ENGINE!!!
I had to add that, I had a friend to do that with DIRE results to his engine.

Hope this works for you! Please let me know??
Take care,
Keith
