How long have you owned your SVX ?

It's been awhile since I have seen a poll on this subject. We seem to get new owners for a while that hang around and sort of bought the SVX for the same reason most of us did "Oh I fell in love with the SVX when I saw it!". Then after a year or so decide to sell it because of the things that need to get fixed, blinded by Love. How beautiful is that! Then there are a few of those who say "I'll get buried in SVX". These are the owners similar to RWJ. He used to be really active on this site and now has just sort of drifted away………..

So here we go. Now if you are Earl reading this, and have 16 or more SVX’s let’s just go with the one you have owned the longest.

Take care of that SVX,

John

My then-wife and I talked about buying an SVX when they first hit the market but quickly realized the price was well beyond our comfort zone. We'd test-driven an XT-6 (>$18,000) some years earlier, decided that was too steep and settled on a Legacy; $26-28 grand was just beyond consideration.

The Claret I got in April of 2005.
The Emerald Pearl I got in March of 2007.

Before I saw my Claret I had NEVER seen one of these cars before. Love at first sight!

Bought mine in the beginning of June 07 when I accidentaly saw it on Ebay. I've seen SVXs when I was alot younger and always went "wtf car is that" I always thought they were modified early eagle talons/mitsu eclipse

Good thing I bought it cuz I love it, and the support here is awsome, nothing like other forums.

I've had mine only for a couple of weeks, it got trailered home

I guess I'm working my way up the ladder
You know, 1st Gen, 2nd Gen, etc.
Want to experience all that Subaru HAD to offer.
I seriously doubt I will ever own a brand new Subaru, way out of my price range. I know someday I'll have a WRX, but it will be at least 15yrs old by then
This is also my first luxury car, never had anything that came with leather seats and all the goodies the SVX does. Hope to be around for a while. My goal is to find a black one and keep it.

1st SVX 7/27/1994
2nd SVX April 2000
3rd SVX September 2004

Still have all three.

I bought my first SVX without ever driving one or even getting in one. I saw it on the lot, walked around the outside, went in the sales office and bought it. The first time I slid into that supple leather seat was when I owned it and was driving it off the lot with the windows down and the stereo up

I guess that qualifies as love at first sight.

Doug

I fell in love when I was young; one of my teachers had a forest green SVX with a tan interior, and he explained that they all came with leather - it was always my number one dream car - but the high cost of parts kept me from buying one as my first car. Finally, after someone t-boned my maroon Celica GT I was driving home from college the back way and saw mine for sale at the bottom of a driveway. I stood outside in the rain lighting up his cell phone and bought it within the week. SATISFACTION!
