Arrow Smokers Special on Ebay

I went to look at this 97 Polo in April Bronxville, NY. Its got the famous dent in the drivers rear quarter that I posted remember. The headliner is all smoked out, and it needed rear pads, rotors, and possibly calipers. The womans name is Joanne Magro and she had it on ebay a few times with no bids. Her starting bid was $7,000. The headliner is toast, and needs to be replaced, unless you like smelling and looking at burnt toast. My mechanic came with me when we looked at it and he inspected it. It idles smooth and quiet and had 76k on it back in April. That rear dent can not be banged out as she suggested to me, and overall it wouldnt have been bad for about 5 grand if it wasnt for that smoked out interior. I offered her $4,700 and she refused, so Im curious as to how much this place on ebay gave her for it when she traded it in. I'll never forget her words to me, "I dont care if I sell it, I already ordered my NEW BMW". Wellllll excuuuuuse me me! Anyway from the photos, you can clearly see the smoked out and discolored headliner, the big dent in the left rear quarter, and there is about a six inch long scratch on the pass side quarter near the door where she side swiped a cement pillar pulling out of her underground garage. Be forewarned!

There is a small crease on the left quarter pane and minor scrapes on the rear bumper cover. There is also a small scratch on the right quarter panel which has been touched up. Aside from some parking dings, the rest of the body is noice and straight. The interior is complete, clean and in good condition. The rims and tires are in good condition as well. All electrical functions are working properly and the A/C is ice cold. The motor sounds great and the transmission shifts smoothly. Fly in and drive this baby home anywhere with confidence.
After what you said... this description is crap.

And what you said about the headliner... well... it looks GOLDEN BROWN... LOL

.......HOLY SMOKES

Yeah, the entire interior has a yelow cast to it, and not only does the headliner have to b replaced, Id venture to say the carpet, and EVERY hard plastic peice should be replaced as well. The foam for the seats are probly next on the replacmnt list

Then it'd be pretty good. I mean, sure, its got a big dent and scratch, but ts a 97 with low mileage. If I had the cash, Id take it in as a minor restoration

saw this one earlier, something seemed odd about the headliner, but i couldn't put my finger on it.

Sure you'd take it as a minor restoration project, but not for 7k i don't think... If so, i have a 92 teal in need of "minor" restoration i'll let you have for 6999$, a deal when you think about it wait, maybe it's only a deal if you don't think about it...

Wow, that's bad, but I'll bet with some spray upholstery cleaner (for the headliner), carpet cleaner, Formula 409, leather conditioner, plenty of sponges, a bucket or two, clean water and the better part of a Saturday, someone could at least make that interior inhabitable.

I cleaned up a headliner like that with warm water, Woolite, sponge, wet dry vac and many, many terry towels, not perfect but about 85% better in about 3 hours...disgusting work though

If you have not noticed the glass has a yellow tint, you can ecspecially see it on the 18th picture down.
I am not saying that it is not the main culprit behind the felt interior has a disgusting hue but it definitely exsentuates it. I love these new smiles.

My Grandmothers house before we cleaned it and she moved, the wall were white when she moved in 20 years ago, they were a Brownish color and it was so nasty cleaning that, she would chain smoke in her bedroom and it just built up and built up : But, even tho she is a chain smoker I still lover her

Notice, the seller also has the kbb quote for excelent at the bottom? I'd say that the itnerior looks far from "excelent" condition. Also, the smoke on the windows kinda looks like tint, the nasty tint, that you can wipe off with your finger, and get a little nauseated at.

I've smoked for years & owned cars for years. All I can say is, she must not have known how to roll the windows down!! I ALWAYS crack the window when I smoke in the car. Even in the winter.
