Gotta love that purple interior. I remember the car and comments from those who saw it - "Naw, really, what is it?" "Yes, a Subaru!" Some things never change.

Weren't some people on this site claiming this was twin turbocharged, or something? I remember that, vaguely. Well, in any event, they were wrong, like I had suspected. The engine is stock.

I asked the redneck beer-drinkin' fried chicken eatin' local mechanic to put the car up on the lift to see where my exhaust was leaking from - he immediatly inquired as to the 'twin-turbo version' of the car, and was kinda disappointed when I told him it didnt exist... at least he knew it was a Subaru, which surprised me

Nice article. They must have moved the battery to the trunk
I'd love to see what they actually did with the exhaust system and exactly what the switches on the dash actually controlled.
It looks like they violated a cardinal rule of harness anchoring - i.e. it looks like they anchored them on the floor behind each front seat

more switches there than points mentioned in the article...it is interesting that they mentioned fuel cutoff, as the car already has a built-in fuel cut off if the the car rolls.

Yeah, this section of the write-up caught my eye --

Preparation for racetrack duties came at the hands of Roush Industries in Michigan. “The car remained amazingly stock,” explained Banowetz. “FHI provided struts and springs for a tighter and lower handling package. The brakes, wheels, engine, and transmission received no modifications. The muffler was changed to add to the excitement factor. Other changes were for safety and the attention-getting appearance.”

note the statement that the engine received no modifications....

I'm interested in the struts and springs provided by FHI.

Hey, you were in that thread too! Looks like that Chicane guy was right. :P

Any posts from back when I didn't even use capitalization should just be outright disregarded.
I am not at liberty to deny the fact I was a lunatic when I was new to the forum.
As the years wear on, I become slightly less insane.

Oh and about Chicane, I have to piont out one thing that was never caught, he started spewing off because he misread my original statement.
Look at it carefully, for it is carefully worded, unlike my many other comments in that thread.

"i've no doubt no 3.3 svx can reach 500hp without fi, but something a little lower may be acheivable"

Some of the Celica All-Trac/GT-Four owners make clones of the WRC-winning Castrol (Red White & Green) Rallye Car - it would be cool to make a clone of the PPG car - it wouldnt be the most hideous thing ever done to an SVX...

I'm more of a fan of the Subaru Test Mules, in the Black & White with the side decals and cherries on the roof
