Question cigarette lighter removal?

Anybody know how to remove the cigarette lighter base? Before you suggest, yes I checked the fuse. The base has no power so I can't plug in a phone charger, radar detector, etc.

Here's the sad part of my story....

I feel really dumb - I just had my dash half apart to troubleshoot the climate control module, i.e., includes taking out the radio; however I still couldn't figure out how to get the lighter out. I even popped off the plastic bezel around the shifter with no better luck at this puzzle - help please.

You can always just snap the housing holding the screw in... Atleast that's how mine was when i bought it. When i had my stereo installed the shop glued it back on. I think there's one or 2 screws. Try removing the stereo and going in from behind. Gotta go, period is over....damn school.

The lighter is something of a "bear" to deal with. I'd lay out the entire procedure, but, I've done it once on Yahoo. It's long, so, I don't wanna type it again. Do a search on the Yahoo archive for "lighter" and you'll likely find it.

you could probably get to it by taking the stereo and mounting for the stereo out. Got both these things stolen and I have a plain view of the lighter.

What ever you do, DO NOT yank it off. There are 2 screws that hold it in. I made a bad mistake of yanking it off on the 94. It will sit back in nicely and firmly but me knowing that the thing is broken is hunting me.
