How this Site Operates

Many with technical interests may like me not have the time or inclination to visit Babble Threads. If so go there right now and be informed as to why you ara so lucky not to be facing an advertisement at this very moment !

Shouldnt

There shouldnt be any ads on this site. I mean pop up ads, and such. There might be a plug here or there for a business that really satisfied one of our memebers. But that should be about it.

Interesting Ads.

Chris,

We admire how much you are on the ball and your honesty in pointing out this detail. I am sure a few informative plugs are and will always be well received particularly if these can assist the cause.

What else can we all say but Ò thank you! Ò

Trevor.

OK, Trevor - I can't stand it anymore. What are those punctuation marks I see here & have seen on some of your other posts? At first I thought New Zealanders must use little kiwi marks instead of """"s. How quaint! Then I saw another post of yours with """"s. Please clue in this clueless foreign bloke.
Thanks, Ron.

English as she is writ.

OK too Ron,

I donÕt quite know what to say without appearing Ò upperty Ò particularly as you Ò canÕt stand it any more Ò. In all things I try to abide by a high standard and as I passed in English at school see no reason not to write it as correctly as I am able, even if this does make me a Ò quaint Ò old bastard.

For many years I spent many hours dictating letters and writing data involving complex technical subjects which if not correctly worded could become very costly and I guess I have retained the habit. However I can assure you that I am capable of swearing with the best and have always involved myself with practical types and few week ends have passed without me having grease on my hands.

By the way inverted commas are not properly inverted when printed by computer. My word processing program can correct this but I am not about to go to those lengths.
My spelling stinks by the way and I no longer have nice typists to sort me out. (You can run with that one if you like.)

Does the above give you the required clue ? If you are Ò taking the Mickey Ò fair enough and I have taken the bate, but if so you had better watch out for a shot or two from down under; OK ?

Cheers and best wishes, Trevor. *<)
