Windows tinted

Well I finally had the windows on the SVX tinted. They ended up costing $300. I went with a 28% film.

I wonder how much of a pain in the ass it is to tint the SVX opposed to other cars.

That looks lighter than 28%.

I also have 28% on my car and it looks darker.

A big one considering I had to take mine to about 4 places before I found one who would do it. Only charged me $200, they didn't know what they were in for though...

It's 28 but the sun was shining on it and it looks lighter. It normally looks darker but I think the sun shining through makes it look lighter. The guy that tinted it has done a few before and it still took him about 3.5 hours. He said his first one took him over 5 hours. He also said it was tough because of the compound curves in the windows.

the color of the interior makes a huge difference in how dark the tint looks, i have beige interior and have 5% in the back and 15% in the front, i judged this off a car with black interior which was a mistake on my part, i am going to get 5% put on the front asap, the svx really is not that big of a pain just more windows the only hard part in the tint process is removing the old stuff (if applicable) i got charged 180 for removing all my old tint (6 hr process, checked in multiple times to make sure they were working) and about 2-3 hours to put the new tint on

I think it takes a long time to remove because of the heated rear window... You dont want to scrape off one of those wires !

gtdanielgt is absolutly correct, there is not way you have seen the tint on the rear window correctly removed in 5 min with the defroster lines, it is a very tedious process of using a razor blade and scraping in between the lines then kind of peeling the tint off of the lines.

I hate to play the one up game.. but, $100, and it only took him about an hour.. granted he had the clear patterns from the three he had previously done, and it looks nice http://xt6.net/forum/files/hucks_027.jpg Mine is the Brilliant Red.. the Yellow belongs to Huck369.. the same guy also did his tint. Here's another http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...6/100_0396.jpg
