clunk in the rear end
I recently had the tranny rebuilt and installed a used rear differential and had all new gears put in the front differential. Along with this, I also installed a shift kit to firm up the auto trans. Since then, when I get on it from a dead stop, usually while turning at the same time, I get a loud clunk in the rear end. From everything I have read, I think it's rear wheel binding and have seen some people on here use the Brad Penn LSD additive to correct it. I want to try to confirm this before I use it. Also, I now have my POWER light blinking 2x per second for 8 seconds on startup. The scanner at the transmission place showed nothing wrong. I took it to my friend at Subaru to hook it up to their scanner and it showed vehicle speed sensor 1 and 2 (my speedometer still works) and a line pressure duty solenoid C. I don't know if this is due to the increased pressure from the shift kit or if I have something going wrong in my new tranny. If anyone could provide some insight to this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks... |

A problem with Solenoid C can cause the rear wheels to bind like that. Run a quick search, it's a well-documented issue.

Binding is more of a trembling vibration, not a single clunk. A clunk is usually a diff mount bushing.
