New member.

Hi, everyone, I'm a new SVX owner in Western Mass.

And a couple of big ones.

Just thought I'd say hi. Later.

Well the first big problem I seem to have is my radiator. It's leaking. And judging from the searches I did you have probably guessed it's the top plastic part. I tried some quicksteel tonight and will check that in the morning. I'm also going to try some of the pellet stuff for good measure.
I don't suppose anyone has a used but working one lying around for sale?
No?
I didn't think so.
I've already searched and know where to get 'em, I just thought I'd give it a shot.

Speaking of which, Shot King, whereabouts are you in Northeast PA? I'm Originally from Muncy(near Williamsport).

I'm from the scranton/ wilkes barre area. Be careful with the pellet stuff. I used it once and it clogged the leak good but also clogged some other stuff while it was at it. My heater no longer blew out hot air and apparently it clogged the passages of my heater core. BTW I used the generic stuff don't know if the name brand is any better. Good Luck

Matt = Welcome to the "Family"
Interesting "site name". My coaching company's name is Tiamat Partners, LLC. Keeps me off the streets when I'm not working for NASA or working on my SVX!
You should try to make the Reading meet in April. Check the Reading meet thread for more info.

Matt,
check EBay (search on SVX). They do show up (I think there may be one being auctioned now). New ones are still available from SubaruParts.com. You might also contact SubaruPartsGirl on this site - she works in the parts department at Wilkins Subaru and gives site members very good deals on parts.

I had the same problem with my radiator. The front of my svx was hit when I bought it. the plastic on top of the radiator is ABS. I first tried to fix it using a fiberglass patch. This proved to be quite half ass. Then a buddy of mine who's a motorcyle maniac showed me an ABS patch kit used on bikes when the plastic gets smashed . It was 40 bucks and I used it and my radiator works great now. Go to your local bike shop and ask them about it.

DON"T use any pellet stuff!!! Say it after me "Iwill not put anything in my car that wasn't put there originally" Good. Now for the radiator. Try the fixes suggested for plastic. But do it with the rad out of the car. Make sure it is clean and dry and "scuffed" where the repair patch is to go. This also gives you the opportunity to blow out any crud in the fins with compressed air. Check the a/c cooler also there is bound to be some crud in between the two rads. Be patient let the patch settle overnight. The time you spend now will not haunt you later. Good Luck and Glad to see you have an SVX!
