Looks like I'm alone here. Bought mine new in May of 1992. I wont' forget when, because I was afraid my wife would think I was crazy or cut me off. So I flew her mother over from Istanbul then sent the two of them off to Cuba for a weeks holiday as a mothers day gift. Two days after they left I picked up my "brand new" SVX. She flipped when she got home and saw it, but what could she say? It now sits at 303,496 km. Still runs like a charm. I put it away for the winter for the first two years, then had to use it when my winter truck (GMC Jimmy) had a major problem and was in the shop for over a week. Never put the SVX away again, driven daily ever since, winter and summer. Still the best car I've ever owned. I'm praying that the concept car that Subaru was showing actually hits the market, this car can't last for ever, or can it?, regards dave

I'm the second owner of my TEAL '92 LSL. I bought it in '95 from a Lexus dealer after it sat on his lot for 3 months. I paid $12,500 for it with 50,000 miles on the ticker.

I bought my '95 new . . .

. . . in 1997. It had been driven a little by one of the salespeople. It also had a metal repair that they didn't bother telling me about. I am, however, utterly satisfied. I paid $19,100. It stickered at $28,XXX. At 142,000 miles, it's the longest I've ever owned a car, with the most miles, and the most reliable by far.

I'm the original owner of my Liquid Silver '92.
Bought new in '93, had 8 mi. on it.
Had the "apperance package" Subaru USA was putting on leftover '92's to try to move them ('SVX' JDM-style side decal, sunroof wind deflector, rear spoiler). Sticker was $31.5K. Got it for $24K even, plus a $10.5K trade-in on a 5 year old Honda Prelude that I only paid $13.5 for.
Car has 46K miles on it today

I sold Nick's Black 96 new to a local Doctor, who bought two of them for two of his absolutely stunning daughters. So, when I bought it back, though titled in my name, Nick is the second owner. We still have the window sticker, $36,055.00.

I bought mine new in September 1996 for $25,700. Sticker (which I still have) was $30,490. It had 65 miles when I bought it, and it just reached 90,000 miles this month.

I had to have a blue one . I also wanted the L model because it was lower-priced, a little lighter (55 pounds), and had more headroom (0.6"). I also wanted one without the CD player, since I knew I'd pull out the factory radio anyway. But there were none in or near Atlanta.

Mine was in Tyler, TX (2 hours east of Dallas). I flew to Dallas on a weekend-special airfare deal. Family there drove me out to the dealer to pick it up. Broke it in around Dallas that weekend, then drove it back to Atlanta over two days.

Another dealer in Oklahoma had one at the same time. The salesman started calling me back trying to get me to buy theirs. I could have flown there for the same fare, but when they admitted that it had been dented by hail, even though they said it had been repaired I wasn't so interested.

I remember looking at an Audi A4. I liked the idea of all-wheel drive. I wanted the A4 for the manual transmission, but I also really wanted a change from the 4-door-look of my previous car (a Mazda 626). That and the lower price swayed me towards the SVX.

Although I am the third registered owner of my SVX, I am the fourth person to use the car for personal transportation..........my car was used as a company car for an executive at Subaru of America. I am also the first person under 40 to own my car.

My girlfriend is the second owner of her SVX. The original owner only parted with the car after it suffered engine damage from a seized water pump. She hated to see it go, but was glad that we were going to fix it up and put it back on the road
