Trevor,
I'd appreciate that. If it's too expensive to send to my address, just send it on paper. I'll simply use the boot leather that I extract from my own orifice after kicking myself.

Okay, it's been a week, now. It's nearly 4 in the afternoon. I haven't heard hide nor hair out of the tranny shop since they called me last Wednesday to say "you say your tranny is leaking?" Why do I bother? Drop it off first thing Monday, they don't even peek 'til Wednesday. "We'll have to pull it." Of course they will, the *%^#@ front diff is leaking grease into the transmission! "It'll cost over 700.00, if we pull it, find nothing wrong and reseal and reinstall it." So, I tell 'em it HAS to be done, so do it. I guess they're waiting on parts. I'm not going to call and bug them, though. Since I don't NEED the car, I'm not as torqued about it as I was before, but DAMN, what's up with draggin' ass after you've given people a specific time and day to bring a car in? That just gaulds my balls!

Hi Doug, Since i have not seen a firm date for the next meet. They can keep Randys SVX ah forever. I start humming the "Twilight Zone" theme song. Where's Rod Serling when you need him. I heard he did SVX trannys on the side. Take care, BOBB

Randy I have put away the boot and will send a rocket. Aim well.
Your cheque should be oval shaped and as bouncy as the recipient.

"You're traveling through another dimension, in your SVX -- a dimension not only of smell and sound but of a warped and withered mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of an auto tech's imagination. That's a signpost up ahead: your next stop: the Tranny Repair Zone!"

Randy, might I suggest repaying them the same way they're treating you?

"Oh yeah, I'll bring the check in on Monday...but I think I'll date it for Thursday...hrm... actually, thats a bad account, so we might have to order new checks"

That made me think of this lady who was leaving the service department of one of our advertising clients. They refused to take her check and would not release her vehicle until she paid in cash. The bill was like 220.00.

The lady stormed out of the department and went next door to the bank. Next thing you know, she comes out of the bank followed by one of the employees who is pushing a shopping cart. They walked into the service department and the attendant began pulling the bags out of the cart and placing them through the cashier's window.

When all was said and done, the lady had paid her bill in fast hard currency --- 220.00 in pennies.

Ahahhahaha. Good idea, though I have a feeling it'll take you an ungodly amount of pennies to pay for your diffrential repair. :\

G'luck on however you pay it!

I am rather confused. Is a cheque (check) which is returned and not honoured considered to have ÒbouncedÓ up your way, as it is down here ?

Trevor,

Yes, that expression is used here as well. It's part of the common post-English international vernacular.

Also, just to throw a figure into the mix...

A *BRAND NEW* remanufactured SVX transmission costs about $3100 from Subaru of America. Installation including materials should cost about $450.

Don't let the bastards get you down!

Yes it does, Trevor, but, I just got this visual of a tech with huge . . . well, you know . . . "bouncing" over to me. I'm quite the visual person.
