Apologies if anyone thought I was trying to get my posts up!

I had a NICE dream where the SVX was only released in YELLOW, all 25,000 odd thousand of them.....and went on a NICE long drive, this procession of SVX's, to Aredubjay's house and so intent to get there were the NICE drivers of the SVX's that they ran every YELLOW light they came across.

When Aredubjay opened his door and saw all the YELLOW SVX's, his reaction could hardly be described as NICE

right vs. left

So those are right-drive avatars!

Silly me, I thought that was the PASSENGERS doing the waving....

Well it could be worse....my beacon could be rotating backwards or my feedpoint could be off-center. (Joe)

But, I will have to play with it a bit, to figure out how to add some canvas size, otherwise there will be SVX written at the bottom. Hopefully I don't have to manually edit each frame.

Let me know if you guys want one like that, I can make one in a jiffy.

Ryan
That should drive the graphics artists nuts. Having the car drivng "off" the page instead of "into" the page. I love it!

I was wondering what woke me in the middle of the night down here......must have been the banshee wails of Randy!

We're so cruel....I'm sorry Randy to be part of the Yellow SVX Torment Squad!

I used to have a girlfriend who HATED the SVX - especially the windows and who used to tease me with stories that she would bring them all up to the rural areas around Sydney and throw them in a ravine so I could not find them!

Anyways, I'm sure Randy would love to go back in time to the FHI Production Line and contaminate the resevoirs of a paint by code #518!

Gosh darn it!!

Your feedhorn IS off-centre. Full well you know that offset dishes have the feed arm at the bottom to allow the dish to be mounted upright and catch less snow! You didn't think I swallowed that techno-twaddle, now did you?

James

Ignore Randy's rants and raves. He's suffering from banana fever.

That avatar is so cute. One question: if you owned and drove an SVX in that colour, would your driving deteriorate to the level of a cab driver's??

No, two questions: would people keep trying to get into it every time you stopped in traffic??

Joe

Yeah, cute.

It's as cuddly as an anatomically correct female teddybear.

And I even like the passenger getting guillotined.

Cute!

Slightly off centre

<Full well you know that offset dishes have the feed arm at the bottom to allow the dish to be mounted upright and catch less snow! You didn't think I swallowed that techno-twaddle, now did you? >

Yawn....I submit for your consideration "Exhibit A"...the mighty GBT...

http://info.gb.nrao.edu/

Now if you see a bottom-mounted offset there, I will buy you a case of your favorite "served-nearly-frozen" American beer! Even though it snows (a lot!) in Green Bank, the SIGNAL is more important to the astronomers than potential snow load....
....besides, they can't receive signals through snowstorms any better than our backyard DSS dishes, so they tilt it horizontally to lessen any accumulation if a storm approaches. They stay on top of the weather up there BIG TIME; compare the size of the dish to the sails on an old windjammer. Can you imagine the WIND LOAD on that baby during a storm? If they didn't "feather" that thing, they'd be picking up panels over in Virginia!!!

PS...If anyone will design me a beautiful radio telescope avatar with a correctly placed offset feed (so that Joe will not be irritated every time he sees it) and some form of animation on the incoming signal, I would be willing to pay them a reasonable fee. Don
