I am probably one of the few that would ever have a need for it.
I could have used it when I was rolling around on a rusted-through rear strut mount.

I could have used it the 10 or so times I've had transmissions in the trunk. Oh, I especially could have used it when I had a transmission, steering rack, front subframe, 2 strut assemblies, a set of 16" rims, a set of stock SVX rims with dirt tires on them, cooler, suitcase, and probably some stuff I'm forgetting. Who says the SVX isn't a great hauler?

Re: I just got up this morning and bought an SVX

Flying up north tomorrow for retrieval. 8-10 hrs road trip back south. Will try to drive mountain passes up there and gobble klicks down south and hopefully take some pictures, too.

I feel like 16 year old who knows he's gonna reach third base.

Actually, the base system is american and I am not. Most affairs in this direction here are non linear, start with a few drinks and end up with 4 people, of which at least one you didn't even see at the party.

Edit: And that doesn't bode well for driving, I guess

The headlights would be pointing into the bumper if that were the case

Re: I just got up this morning and bought an SVX

Yes, the tilting lights were quite helpful. Of course, the previous owner had mounted some hiiiiiigh beams in front of the grill, they pointed well up. Going to get those off asap.

Had a 12 hour drive, took a few pics, will post later. Wonderful sound, wonderful pull, great comfort. Great car!

What's really the difference between economy and normal mode?

Shift maps. Basically what gear it will shift into depending on RPMs, speed, and throttle input. Economy mode it will favor higher gears, normal, not so much. Power mode, it will hold onto lower gears for a longer time, but the torque converter will never lock up. You might not have a button for power mode but if you hit the gas pedal very hard and quickly you should see the green "power" light on the dash for a few seconds.

Re: I just got up this morning and bought an SVX

Oh yes, that was #1 thing I did Can't go from Eco to power but it pulls damn fine in eco, too.

Very fun car. Can't wait to drive it with summer tyres and the back seats up. And no load, of course. Weighing 1.9k kilos we still managed a 0-100 in 8-9 seconds slightly uphill. Was quicker down the same hill

I don't know about that. I'm a huge fan of Bridgestone and the Potenza series in particular. Different strokes for different folks.

Re: I just got up this morning and bought an SVX

Awful light, bad camera and dirty car.

First is morning glory, second is wedge by the mountain (sorry for cutting the mountains but they were too high for the pic anyway) and my wingman with an expession that says everything about ye olde rallye lighte that the previous owner mounted (and I will dismount).

So yes, the car exists!
