any SVX owners in need of donor car?

After being a proud owner of a black 1992 SVX for few years, I am afraid that I am no longer able to keep it drivable. She has developed several serious recurring problems, including the transmission (before I bought her, at some point part of an Impreza transmission was installed) and the power steering housing (which is laced with micro-cracks and weeps steering fluid into the engine compartment). I've had replaced the front axle, the CV boots, front brakes down to the rotors, and recently the tires, front bumper, and cooling fan. Two different dealerships have done transmission jobs with only temporary success.

She has 148,800-ish miles and some cosmetic damage, most obviously some paint mottling on the roof. She may at this point be of more use as a donor for another driver's SVX than as a drivable vehicle. Would anyone like to buy her for that purpose, or to attempt a substantial rebuild? I'm located in Portland, Oregon, and could deliver her within Oregon or Washington. All reasonable offers and condolences entertained.

Got pics?

Pictures and a summary of the car's condition (glass, wheel bearings, interior etc.) would really help.

I'll get some photos up within the next day or so. The glass is all fine. I'm not sure on the wheel bearings - I'm not aware of any problems there. There are some scratches in the paint, doors, and that odd mottling problem on the roof. The sunroof must be reminded to open, by pressing on the leading edge as you push the buttom. The AC was dead when I got it but is working order now. The seats are in fair shape, a few of the seams are starting to split. Steering wheel has some general wear. The gas gage stopped working some time ago - sometimes it works fine but mostly it just wanders around.

Smile SVX 4-sale

Please PM me and let me know what you want for the car. I have a black one also and could use a parts/donor car. I live only four hours away from you and I am going to be in town on Friday. I am very interested in the whole car. Please leave me a number and I will call. I sent an email yesterday. Fishtail.

Welcome to the site. I am sorry you can't keep this car going. Good luck.
