dingking

It works on both depending on how sharp the edge is inside your ding. Real sharp edges and broken paint may be to much of a match for a $29.95 body tool. There was on sharp edge ding I had from a tree limb I was sure it wouldn't get out, but it pulled 90% of it out and then a little rubbing compound it made it look a lot better. Common sense tells you that this is not a miracle worker, but it does work.
On that tree limb ding, I'm not totally done with it. I'm going to try again and get a little creative with the hot glue.

Isn't this thread just the model for the way topics can get out of hand (heh-heh), at this site?

We've got a few members trying to improve their cars, & a few "cards" trying to improve their members.

PS - I DID ask the salesman for the "compact" model, & he said, "Oh, you must want the Randy Li'l Johnson special".

Ron.

Glad to know it works

Glad to know that thing actually works - I have a couple of dings that need pulling out. I wish they had a different spokesperson, though - there's something about Billy May's voice that sets my teeth on edge.

Thanks for being the test dummy SVXY. I remeber starting a thread on this device a couple of weeks ago. I think I'll get one now and heal the sides of my car

I haven't been too impressed with the Dingking. Upon first using it, I was attempting to pull a dent out while the glue refused to release. While further tightening the wing nut, one of the two circular rests for the metal bridge broke as it was under too much stress. Fortunately, I was able to get this part replaced, but the particular dent I was trying to pull is now bowed out.

In addition, I can't get the "small" dings out and have had only minimal success on the larger ones. To no avail, I've spent hours at it and done multiple pulls for each ding. It would be nice to have smaller pulling tabs, as opposed to only two sizes and two of each. The smallest tab is just too big. After all, most "dings" seldom exceed the diameter of a penny.

I may have slightly improved the appearance of the car, but not nearly enough to justify the $60 (delivered) I've spent on this product. Not to mention the price of shipping the broken piece back to Dingking.

Davie, that was always one of my concerns when watching the commercials. How does the glue know when it is time to release the metal? I'm surprised that does not happen more often. Also I'm surprised you don't hear more about the feet on the ding king leaving dents of their own as they press against the body and push as hard on it as the middle is pulling on the dent. I guess they can always cover themselves with the "Your results may vary" tag.

I have seen the original Dingking at my local Walgreens for just $19.95. Sounds like less than some of you are paying online and might be worth a look if your looking to buy one.

Grrr! Both of my doors have been repainted before. What happens with those, the glue doesn't stick or release?
