Pro's & Con's for the underdrive pulley on SVX?

Pro's & Con's for the underdrive pulley on SVX?

Alright...well the SVX forced my hand and wore out the crank pulley. While I'm in there should I just 'upgrade' to an underdrive pulley? (Why didnt subaru install it originally with one?)

I intend later in life to put some more serious money into the car (dont we all...), and dislike redoing work already done.

Is there a situation where changing it out would be unadvicable? turbo? 6spd? upgraded alt?
