Dashboard lights
Have not been on the forum for a while - the car has been running all OK. However today it started showing some dashboard lights which are normally extinguished once the car has been started. I have continuously on the following: P - park brake light, Battery light, Stop Lamp light, Brake Fluid and Antilock Brake lights. It seems that all except the AntiBrake light are at a lower intensity as when I pull the handbrake on the P light goes brighter while the antilock seems bright all the time.
Any ideas what could be causing it? |

Re: Dashboard lights
Most likely an electrical issue. Your battery is draining. It could be a dying battery or alternator. It won't be long until the car stalls.

Re: Dashboard lights
All those lights come on when the alternator has problems. Check the voltage at the battery when the engine is running, if it is over 15 Volts, the regulator has failed, and you should get it looked at before it does any damage to the electrical system.
If it is under 12.5.the alternator is not charging.

Re: Dashboard lights
Thank you for your comments - it must have been a momentary glitch as the next day and since then all back to normal. Voltage at the battery is 14V so all seems to be OK.
