See it at Reading

Oh, I failed to mention... I am going to try to make it out to the Reading meet this year... I guess it will be my first and only, probably.

It will be a great opportunity for all of you to see it in person.

Will people frown upon me trying to "advertise" that the car is for sale there?

It has been done before. I am sure you will at least get compliments on it's condition!

Snowfall

Ironically, the first day the car is no longer parked in the garage is the day we get hit with the biggest snow storm of the season.

Post CarFax report... please!

Hi all,

I've got a potential local buyer who asked if I could provide a CarFax report.

Is there anyone that happens to have a subscrption that can provide that for me, please? I've also posted on the CarFax request thread here:
http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=49341
(I'll update both places if/when anyone comes through.)

Thanks so much!

~ Rad

Hello

I have not been here for a while. Just reading through your thread. Glad you may have a local buyer but, come on, if someone is willing to spend $6K+ on a car can't they afford to or bother to pay for a carfax report for themselves if they were serious. Tell the person you'll give them the $30 bucks off the price. Like TomsSVX said "Aparently no one really cares for the BEST way anymore, just the cheapest". Maybe its just me but if I were buying your car I would do my own research and carfax etc....

Anyway, nice example of an SVX and I think the price is more than fair for its condition and maintenance already done. Keep your price and a buyer will come, the season is just around the corner (even though this is a 4 season car).

Regards

Max

I had one for it but it has since been deleted. If I remember correctly there wasn't much there to read about.

Thanks for letting me know, Matt. You think any potential buyer will take my word for it? :-)

Hi Max... Actually, he just asked for the VIN number so that he could run his own report. However, I was the one who offered to find someone with an existing subscription before he comes to look at the car on Sunday. If not, he was more than willing to pay for it himself.

He and I actually had a long talk about the car and he did ask all the right questions and did do a little bit of homework, so if he does end up being the new owner, I think you guys will have a very good additional member.

Re: 1995 Green L AWD with only 65K miles in NY

your car is in a lot better shape than my 94 LSi was (with 95000 mi ) that I got three years ago and have had problem after problem with- I paid just a little less than that for mine, some might say I was stupid, but it goes to show you it's all what someone will pay and how badly they want it...I love my car despite the fact that it has needed almost constant repairs (I dream of being able to get it in A+ condition) Plus supply and demand plays a part. In Iowa, not many SVX's come up for sale and is difficult to get to the coasts to be choosy. It sounds like your car is def worth what you are asking

Re: 1995 Green L AWD with only 65K miles in NY

Thanks for the support, Bailey! And I'm sorry to hear about the woes with your SVX. Ironically, I actually bought my first SVX in Kansas City, which isn't too far from you, and yet you are saying all the good ones are only on the coasts. The one I am now selling was from Cincinnati. So, as you can see, it took me some good searching and effort to find the gems, even with me living on the east coast. I guess it's simply about timing... and patience. Good luck with the upkeep of your SVX baby!

Re: 1995 Green L AWD with only 65K miles in NY

My woes with my LSi are just what usually come with this car- I need my transfer clutches replaced and now to track down a pesky electrical problem somewhere, oh yeah, and the droopy visor! when it's running it more than compensates for the problems! If I was a mechanic like so many on this forum are, I am sure it would be fixed by now. I drive a Forester as my daily driver, geesh that's another story, it is so lacking in the speed department. I have to floor it just to merge onto the interstate and people actually have to slow down sympathetically and let me in. That never happens in my SVX. I love my SVX. it's the only car I've really loved. can't put a price tag on that. Sorry, I got off subject. Good luck with the sale!

Re: 1995 Green L AWD with only 65K miles in NY

Hello All,

I just wanted to let everyone know I had the pleasure of meeting Rad last weekend, and drove his SVX. I have to say I was favorably impressed. The car was actually nicer than he described!

The cloth interior is perfect, other than weak driver's visor. The original dark green paint is excellent, other than a few (and I mean few) minor chips or nicks. The car did not have any rattles and steering was tight. The windshield was cracked on passenger side, but he said he would gladly replace the windshield is desired! This car is NICE!

Rad was honest enough to even give me advice on a couple other Subaru options I am considering. I think he is a great member of the SVX community -- wish he could keep this car -- but family needs a new car.

Cheers, Steve
