Kangamangus Foliage Meet and Drive Sep. 29th

Okay people we've managed one small outing. How about a second? The itch to get the NH SVX comunity to do more things has gotten to myself, RideRed777, and K____Sama and here's a great oppertunity to take a nice drive, meet, talk, and at very least get out of the house to see the trees. As we've had a fairly dry summer the trees have started to turn a bit early and a nice late September drive should do the trick just right.
From RideRed777 researching place on the map he's found mile marker51, NB rest area on 93 as the best option to gather. 10 AM show up time and an estimated 11-12 launch time. Should be easy enough to get too and a convenient place to start from. We have two main options on the drive route. With a third being a full sweep.
1. 112 the souther route. Shorter but with less time being taken up by 93.
2. 302. With more time on 93 but a over all longer trip and more time to enjoy the run.
3. 93 to 302, back down 112. This would be a full White Mountain loop, but gives a fuller appreciation for the cars and surroundings. Down side of being very long.

We'll take a general consencous or what people want to do before we leave and any who want to brake off and head out early along the way are free to. This is mostly just a rough planning and accomidations can be made to the help others fit their scheduals. Plenty of opertunities to stop for food. Suggestions are welcome on places to stop. Anywhere on the route is fair game. We'll likely employ a phone chain and eye contact to stay organized on the road. Any questions post'em and we'll be glad to answer what we can.

I'm pretty excited for this drive, not going to lie...

Kangamangus is a beautiful run, especially if we can have the time to do the loop all the way around the mountains. There will be stops for food, gas, and of course, beauty shots, of our attractive cars with beautiful scenery.

Might as well get the list going...

2.SeraphinWolf (I'm assuming you're coming, given how much we talk about it... )

If it was during the second week/end of November I could possibly make it. I got off for NJEA teacher's conventions that week. I know somebody who lives in Concord so I'd be able to stay a couple days

We'll keep that in mind. Was thinking about (obviously, depending on the success of this trip) doing another drive end of October-ish on Rt.100, a great run up through VT. But let me know the exact dates you'd be available and I'll try and plan it so you can get in on it...

Wish I read this sooner.

I've been at the garage all day, we got the keys at about noon, but it still wasn't much help. We were gonna start dragging it, but I had a hard time scratching up the underside of someone elses car. ...even if it was already a mess. I got most of it back together, just need a tie rod and a wheel&tire (you should see this thing)... it's enough to move it around now.

I took the exhaust off the SVX and tweaked with it a bit. Sits in the car a little better now, but the driver tail pipe now is cocked to the side I can't win today. I'm gonna go back to mess with the trim/sound system in a bit. Gonna rip out the old legacy head unit that i was using on the "temp"... and install the carputer i had in my other legacy.

I hope sicksubie is okay. Given my situation, I would have gladly thrown my welder in the leg and helped him out in exchange for riding shotgun. I should have read this thread before heading over to the shop this morning

Sorry to hear that man...

Yeah I just looked back through my PM's... the end digits are "5815", not "5821"... I really don't know what I was on when I wrote that.

Hopefully next time. Ditto on wanting to help him out, I had no clue you shredded your belts, I have a spare set, except for the s/c belt obviously... I guess thats what happens when you tighten it enough to get some real boost outta it...

Here is why I said murphy's law

I am changing the crank pulley last night and notice that my alternator bracket is cracked. I figure that I can still make it work and that I will just be gentle. It then proceeds to crack off completely. I figure I will call my friend who has a MIG, he is in Maine. I decide to fab up a new one. My compressor blows a gasket. I fix the gasket. Then I start cutting some L-channel for the bracket. My last cutting wheel fragments. I start using a hack saw. The hack saw breaks. I say "screw it" and go to bed at 3:30am

Btw

I have every other weekend off. If that helps at all.

so unless something changes in Oct I have:
weekend of 13-14
weekend of 27-28

and tomorrow I should be getting a call back on leasing a spot for the SVX
