Re: California members

I'm in socal, in the victorville area. I have seen one other SVX on the road here, a red one and I've only seen it once. I have a 94 burgundy pearl LSi AWD. Is there a date for the Death Valley meet yet? I might try to make that, as it sounds like fun.

We were talking March, to commemorate the Road & Track article written the same month. No consensus was reached, and the thread fizzled out. I figure come winter, interest may pick back up.

Here's the thread
linky

No mini-meet this weekend either. I suppose watching me curse at the underside of my car isn't everyone's idea of fun. In all seriousness though, we ought to get a little meet or cruise together. I live near the Mulholland Hwy, and see BMW guys meeting up there all the time. Maybe Hwy2 on the Angeles Crest would be better situated for everyone. If anyone replies with interest we could start working out details otherwise I'll back off the whole "meet" thing and leave you all in the peaceful anonymity of internet world.

Re: California members

If I were a bit closer to your location i'd be happy to lend a hand, no sweat.

I had been watching the thread about the DV drive which sounded like a great time, I have always wanted to explore that park. I cant however give a confirmation as of yet since im moving to Reno now and need to secure employment before any plans can be made. If I do hopefully get to go, it will be with only short notice and I wouldnt even care if it were just a couple of us going.... it would be a great drive nonetheless.

As for "otherwise I'll back off the whole "meet" thing and leave you all in the peaceful anonymity of internet world", I would like to end my own anonymity with a pic of my mug for the entire world to see...

Lets take lots of pictures!!

In the interest of full disclosure, here's my pic.

I put the image up a couple of times, and it "went away" each time.

They seem to have anti-linking software in place:

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

That could be why.

Re: California members

Darn those anti-Burt servers. Anyways I was looking for a high rez one of this when I posted the other:

Best movie ever. Plus a great scene on my commute road featuring a BRAT and a Scout. It's like they made this movie just for me.

Anyhoo...

Re: California members

Hey Alex,
I'm still game for a meet anywhere within half a day's drive from here. "Here" being the west San Fernando Valley. The Death Valley run is still a great idea. Here's another thought. In August, I went to a new event in the Monterey Week. It's the "Concorse D'Lemons," put on by the people who do the 24 Hours of LeMons. It received some national press coverage, so perhaps next year we can have an SVX class, to go with the Pintos, Ramblers and other similar exotica. I knew I was in the right place when the first two cars I saw were a Lancia Beta sedan and a DKW 3=6 four-door. There was also an Austin Countryman.

Great Paul, looks like a few us interested, I'll go to Monterey. Toss your name on the list.

Re: California members

Im just checking in. Im in San Bernardino not too far from Waterman Canyon. I still havent made my way up and down the hill to Crestline and back yet...I figure I better actually get the car registered in my name before I make that run, so hopefully next week sometime.

My SVX is a 92 Ebony/Pearl LS-L. No spioler. BBS wheels. If your in the Berdo or SNBD mountains area and you happen to see the car, give me a honk.
