Slight problem - easy fix. Need Input

The problem is, May 11 is Mother's day. While that's not a problem for me, it is for some of the AROC members. So, we have to look at either the weekend before, May 3-4, or the weekend after the SLO Wine Festival, when there are no hotel rooms available, that would be May 24-25. So let me know what you all think. (The person putting it all together for AROC is going on a cruise the weekend of May 10-11, and doesn't want to miss the event, after she assembles it.

Some hours later...

OK, turns out the AROSC people did NOT want to do anything on Mother's Day. So we have returned to our original date of May 17/18. They are looking for a hotel/motel between Pismo Beach and Paso Robles with reasonable rates and are looking to block 20 rooms, a few more for SVXi, depending on how many are interested. For last fall's wine tour, we blocked 20 rooms in Buellton, and had a couple of people in a nearby Motel 6 because we had more people. Everyone seems happy with McClintock's as a place for the dinner.

At that time of year, driving up Highway 1 to Morro Bay won't be as clogged with RVs as later in the summer.

So, it looks as if we will room for Friday and Saturday night at wherever, meet for social on Friday night, drive and wine on Saturday, dinner at McClintock's on Saturday night, breakfast, brief car show Sunday morning, and then go home.

Should be a great weekend. Great cars, great scenery, great food, great friends. Look forward to it.

Paul

Those dates turn out to conflict with a car-trip we have planned with some friends to the Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce the first 2 weeks of May. Sorry I won't be able to make it and meet you folks.
Enjoy the wonderful SLO-town views and great weather!! Maybe another time. We visit family in Ocean Beach a few times a year.

I'm still here! I've been inactive for quite a spell, but I'm still here! The SVX is undergoing some surgery for a few weeks, but May is far enough ahead that I should be able to make a meet without any problems. Well except for work, so how far away from Orange is this place the meet is going to be? The furthest I've taken my SVX north was Van Nuys...

May Meet

Wan,

The meet will be held in San Luis Obispo. It's a college town, home of Cal Poly, and a little further than Van Nuys. It's about 200 miles north. We're doing it in conjunction with Alfa Romeo Club, of which I'm a member. We're looking at staying two nights, Friday and Saturday. There will be a social get together on Friday evening, then a drive (and visiting some wineries) on Saturday, a dinner at a good restaurant on Saturday night, then brunch and a mini-concours on Sunday morning, and home by Sunday night. Basically, drive up Highway 101 for a few hours, and you'll be there. Alfa club is not wealthy, like Ferrari Club or Lamborghini Club, so motel rates will be reasonable.

SVX/Alfa meet

Hi,
I finally got the PDF of the Alfa Club spring tour. Here it is, let me know if anyone is interested. If other SVXi show up, I'll bring my pearlie, otherwise, I'll drive my Alfa 164.

No one's interested?

I just put in my reservation for a two-bed room. There are still several rooms available. If no one from the SVX group wants to come, I'll take my Alfa and have a good time anyway. I'll even post pictures when I come back. One other SVX and I'll bring my pearlie. Let me know. P.
