SVX'er

Ok. I would like to hear from all the svx'ers out there. Here's a topic for the chopping block:

Do more people use their SVX as their primary means of transportation or as weekend/holiday ride?

How often during the week do people drive their SVX?

Inquiring minds wants to know!

Smile Daily Driver

My car is a daily driver. 68+ thousand miles. No bearing noise, tranny shifting smoothly (knock wood). Slight leak detected in front main seal, will replace soon.

re: woot kelli

woot kelli, good job

mine's been sitting there for the past 2 weeks. so for 1/2 of the ownership life of the svx has been idle. although i did drive it 1700 kilometers in the first 2 weeks. i stopped after finding out the left rear wheel bearing, front axles, and front pads were bad.

rotors and pads from irotors.com are here.
axles from raxles.com are here.
bearings, engine seals/gaskets, plugs, waterpump, belts are all here from liberty subaru.

now all i need is time lol.

Daily driver. The first one was bought with 109K in '99. It's pushing 190K. My wife uses it as a daily driver now. The second one, bought with 127K, in Aug 2002. I've already put over 10K on the clock. I've got an 80 mile (round trip) daily commute.

Weekender. Occasionally I bring the SVX to work, but not very often. When I do, I can't stop and I drive it to work that whole week. I use the following excuse:

'You know, I just don't have time today to get the parking pass out of the SVX and then take the Justy. I'd better just take the SVX!'

Mostly, though, the SVX is a weekend-only, summer-only car. Unlike most people with summer sports cars, though, I take mine out especially when it rains!

I bought mine in October '99 with 95k on it and it's now at 133k. This is only the second winter that it's spent in the garage, as far as I know. It may have been stored over the winter by the one previous owner, because the paint is in much better shape than most VT cars of similar age. Last year I put a total of 3,000 miles on the car, and it will likely be less and less as the years go by.

Penny's a daily driver, as well as the vehicle we take on all our out-of-town trips, as long as it's just the two of us.
It about kills me whenever she has to be parked for mechanical reasons. A Bronco just doesn't drive the same way!

Kermit's now my daily car.

Sharon drove it for several years (80+ miles daily), but now I do. Only about 100 ~ 150 miles/week.

It had less than 3K when we bought it (untitled) in '97.

Daily driver when it's not in the shop. Now that the baby can face forward in her car seat I can start using it for family trips when we do not have a wagon load of crap to cart around with us.
