Not sure, I do know that although we all talk DIN standard these days (we'll not mention the SAE standard used to "measure" the horsepower of the '60s Muscle cars...........) a German PS (translates as horse power) is a bit smaller than a UK horsepower. For example this new Buggati is reported to have a cool 1000ps, which works out at 986hp.........

Guess our horses are just bigger, thats all. Or maybe James Watt was really on to something !!
