Hey Marty

with your job I figured you'd have a part number and be offering them to us for transplants!

I'm gonna troll this one, and my reasons will be contained in the actual trolling:

1. A photo hardly proves the size of the engine, number of cyilders or whether it's even a turbo - much less twin turbo.

2. Brenda Priddy's poor grammar doesn't lend a lot to her credibility.

3. How can she guess at the specs of a car covered in blankets when she can't even get the specs of an existing car right???

4. The car in the photo is RHD with foreign plates. This is proof of a US-spec Legacy STi?

Maybe Brenda is right and maybe she isn't. But the wild assumptions she makes in her write-up don't help her case, in my book.

Edit: I looked up Brenda on Google and found that she has more than a little street cred in the automotive press. Fine. Good for her. But that changes none of my above statements.

And another thing...

The only reason my SVX is 'out of breath' is that I let it sit for too long with the security system on and now the battery is dead. Other than that, it's swell.

< gasp > Forty- < choke > five < hack > thousand < wheeze > dollars . . .

Well, I can always wait until it's 11 years old, like I did with my SVX.

Pockets, if you look REAL close at the picture, I think you can see 6 intake runners with a "TT" badge through that hood scoop. That's probably what Brenda did.

It's never[/] enough, man.

But I'm not going to, once again, cover the mod vs. stock argument. I like the car as it is and you don't. That's fine.

I've posted an e-mail at a contact at Subaru Canada this afternoon and hopefully will have more on this engine tomorrow otherwise I'll try to contact a friend who is oftenly in contact with Sti to learn more. btw this guys guy offered me a complete suspension upgrade (coil, struts and strut mounts) for 3080.00$can. I told him he was crazy but if any you guys interrested....
directly from Australia he says. Convert it to U.S currency and it could be worth it.

pm me for info and will get back.

Marty

That page also mentions a 4 cyl. diesel engine. I wonder if it will be in boxer formation or of GM has finally pressured Subaru away from the boxer design.

I sure hope not!

Alan,

230HP is a lot better than the 165HP that is currently in our Outback wagon.

If GM contaminates the Subaru bloodline I will personally destroy every GM product I come in contact with. So don't do it GM, if you do anything put a boxer in the Corvette.

Why did Subaru get buddy, buddy with GM anyway I thought they were sell Outbacks as fast as they could make them? and I'm sure there isn't anything they could learn from them.
