Re: dash light bulb replacement numbers

You could try it. I believe they make special omnidirectional LEDs now that I think about it. But it sounds like alot of work to me. Let us know if you do!

Re: dash light bulb replacement numbers

Can anyone point me in the direction of a walk-through on how to replace those bulbs?

Also, could someone list all the interior items that are illuminated, or are supposed to be? For instance, does the sunroof and power mirror switch illuminate when the headlights are on?

Lastly, how do I replace the burnt bulbs in my "PRND321" indicator in the gauge cluster?

Sorry for being off-topic, but I'm a n00b!

I have the same question. If it isn't too bad, I will replace my "D" light. If it is a major ordeal, I will just deal with a dead "D" light.

Funny story: For a while on my old 1991 Legacy, the D light worked. Then, all of a sudden, one day it decided not to work anymore. Then one day about 4 years later, it decided to work again.

I doubt you want to wait 4 years, but you never know.

That's the one bulb I don't mind being out,
if none of those are glowing, I'm in D ,
and I don't have to look at it at night

Not a big deal... a few bolts... a few Phillips screws... remove instrument unit... twist out old bulb... twist in new bulb... reverse procedure to reinstall and you are done.

Someone please Quote this information on a new post so the "huskymaniac person" can see the enlightening information.
He is "punishing me with the ignore feature" on this site

Thanks!

Think the first "HERE" missed a couple of screws. It's been about 3 years since I replaced the bulbs, so not sure

Re: dash light bulb replacement numbers

John,

Thanks for the detailed links on illumination. I printed the page, and went to the garage to check the 92 LS-L Pearl. I need to replace an overhead illumination, and backgrounds on the panel switches.

My 92 Parking switch DOES have an amber light, when selected on, contrary to your report. I'll check the other 92s when I can, three are away driven by the young adults in the family.

Also, in your first description, the security lamp on bulb is not amber, but flashing red. When on, this lamp flashes at all times. Once the key is inserted and turned to ON, the red flashing lamp turns off.

ONE QUESTION? Is there only one background illumination bulb for the cruise, fog, security panel switch, or does each button have have a separate illumination bulb?

The link to Earl's bulb list would indicate that each button has its own illumination bulb, funny, since I have no illumination on either of those three buttons. All burned out at the same time?

thanks for the good work

My 92 pearlie and my son's 92 pearlie did not have the amber LED in them. The indentation in both of our switches was blank.

There are individual bulbs for each button on this panel. In the overhead console, there are only 2 bulbs that illuminate the 4 buttons. The SPOT/ DOOR cluster use one bulb and the ROOM/SPOT cluster use one.

Re: dash light bulb replacement numbers

Interesting about your 92s, did both Parking brake switches in your Pearls have the companion heated mirror switch (LS-L)?

If not, maybe that is the difference?
