Power?

Ive done some cursory searching and couldn't find info... this is my 4th SVX and of course they all have their own set of issues. My current car wont go into "Power" mode.. i have floored it a few times and looked for the light to blink into life but alas it stays dark. (as does the 'D' in the PRND321) Ive never known dash lights to burn out but i suppose its possible.. hoping for a little insight
thanks!

Re: Power?

My Ebony '92 has no PRND321, manual or power light. I don't think it can be just bulbs but what else? It definitely goes into power mode but the light does not come on.

Re: Power?

Hey one that I know!

If you have a 96 (and I assume a 97) then no power light for you. I have heard that the power mode still exists but haven't seen actual proof.

And yes the bulbs do burn out. I've got a dead D light. And a handfull of spares to replace it next time I get the dash apart.

Power mode IS operational in the OBDII cars without the POWER light. I have engaged it many times and know it is a fact.

A quick and full depression of the gas pedal will let you know. When I floor it, I can feel it immediately and don't need a light to tell me I am in the zone.

I am not sure why Subaru discontinued the light.

Blacky your trouble is the dimmer circuit on the back of the dash panel. It may have a burnt component.

Harvey.

+1! I wired the power mode on the TCU strip on our 97, and it works!! No power light though...
