This is my first post so i thought i would introduce myself. I recently purchased a Green 94 SVX with tan interior. I am trading a 99 V6 Mustang for this car. Need the extra cash. I am all about performance and doin stuff to the car myself. If someone could PM me the how-to on the fenderwell intake that would be great. I dont even have the car yet and I already want to mess with it. Ha.

Need the extra cash? Why do you say that? I'd say your trading UP to the SVX. No offense, but man, a v6 mustang? BLECH. Pony car insurance rates, pony car styling, with lethargic Honda Civic DX performance. Anyway, I'd try to keep the mods to a minimum. SVXs are awesome, but I have a feeling it'd be wiser to save your money for repairs than to spend it on mods. :|

btw, there might be a how to for it already. Just look in the upper right corner, click on lockers, then click on 'how to'. G'luck.

Welcome to the network. SVXes are rear and they are hard to modify. They are not that quick either. But they are fast. As for the fender mod, do a search on intake. There should be a couple of how-tos. Make sure you put a grill in it just in case you toss stones in the engine.

Watch yourself on the mustang comments. I still have some love for the car. I have never seen a stock Civic DX that can keep up with it.

Mustang vs. Civic DX
Engine: V6 vs. Inline-4
HorsePower: 190 hp vs. 106hp
Torque: 225 ft-lbs vs. 103 ft-lbs.
0-60mph: 7.3 sec vs. 8.5 sec

Seraph: Mine is an AWD. Is that what you were talkin about?

That can't be right! A mustang GT (260hp) can only manage a 6.8sec 0-60. So your saying a 6cyl can do 7.3? With a few mods maybe, but im skeptical. The SVX is a world of difference from a mustang. It's comfortable, quiet, and much more responsive. Plus if you're used to the upkeep for a mustang, then the SVX repairs shouldn't be that much of a shock.

Seraph meant to say "rare" not rear wheel drive.

If you bought this car to save money, I urge you, to sell it right now. This car may be cheap at first, but the repairs are murder on bank accounts.

The car's rarity presents both pros and cons: unique, one of a kind styling, and high repair prices at the same time.

Y'know, I wondered about that. Someone dogged his Neon when he first signed on and he nearly came unglued. Surely Cash is not capable of a double standard.

Ha. A neon. No wonder the ignorance on cars. Changing from that would make any car seem like a jaguar. Ha

Shadow: That is the number that i found on edmunds. You very well could be right.

I know that i may be knew here, but i know enough about cars to know that mentioning a mustang in the same sentence as a civic anything other than an SI is just rediculous. Someone please back me up here.

No double standard here. Know what? I've raced V6 pusstangs in my 5spd neon. Guess who won??? I've also raced v6 camaros. Guess who won? V6 ponycars are pathetic; they cost a lot, they use lots of gas, they don't have great handling, they have high insurance, and they're SLOWER than a SOHC 5spd neon. PUKE. I've even beaten early 90s Mustang GTs, before they got the newer engine.

Sad but true.

- Ca$h

PS: My neon has no mods... well.. engine wise. v6 mustangs are completely and totally pathetic, don't bother trying to defend them. If you had a v8, it'd be a different story.

Apparently there is. It ain't about who wins, it's about personal preference. You like your Neon -- GREAT! He likes his Mustang -- GREAT! Pockets likes his Justy -- HA!, I mean, GREAT! If you don't like people doggin' what you like, don't dog people for what they like. A lot of people say "YUK!" when I tell them I like Peanut Butter on Green Peppers. I like it. It's all that matters.

first of all welcome to the network and congrats on your svx

second of all, i am a Ford Girl. but you really can't say that a 6 cyl Mustang is really a mustang...it is a waste of material and space that should be filled with an 8. there is no reason to by a car with a pony as a lable unless you got the full package (stick, 8...the whole 9)
