Small Prob is HUGE!! HELP!!
Hello all...I am orig owner of a white 92 lsl with about 110K and have been driving it until yesterday when the right rear brake line went..Problem is its broken high up and can't be reached without dropping the rear end...my mechanic says that may be a nightmare...labor costs in the extreme and possible other parts will break in taking it down due to age/rust/etc....Is there any way around this?? can the brake line be rerouted somehow?? I love my subie and it's in great shape (I just put on 4 new continental extreme dws tires and put in a new radiator)...I don't want to sell it, but this might be the time...Please, someone throw me and my svx a lifeline.........

Re: Small Prob is HUGE!! HELP!!
It can be possible without dropping the subframe. It may not be routed the exact same way as factory, but can be done easily enough in a way that will be safe and nothing will get pinched/cut with suspension travel. The brake lines enter into the interior of the car. You can take out the rear seats and pull up the carpet just a bit, and this can give you access to the hard lines. You could then patch in proper rubber line from the hard line to where the line coming from the caliper stops.

Re: Small Prob is HUGE!! HELP!!
If the six nuts that hold the subframe in place can be removed without breaking,,,
with a lift, and a VERY good transmission jack its not a big deal to drop the subframe for access. Soak the six nuts, and studs with PB Blaster for a day before you start.

Re: Small Prob is HUGE!! HELP!!
I'm 90% sure they're 1/4".

Re: Small Prob is HUGE!! HELP!!
I have some 1/4" and it looks like it might be too big, I'm thinking it's 3/16"

Re: Small Prob is HUGE!! HELP!!
Derp... My mental math fails. It is 3/16". Something in my head was saying 3/16 was the larger of the two, and I knew it was smaller.
