s/c svx on craigslist

http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/1573262776.html

anyone see a supercharger on this thing...?

7000...hmmmmm

And what is this about a sports model? dude must be smoking crack.

I think an explination by this owner is in order.

Does this car belong to someone on this forum?

Re: s/c svx on craigslist

i'm gonna assume someone who sold it to him told him it was supercharged and prolly when he floors it he gets the alternator whine which prolly makes him assume its the supercharger

Re: s/c svx on craigslist

hahahahahaha. poor guy I hope some unsuspecting kid does not buy this and get ripped off. 7k is a lot to ask for one of these, although it seems clean. But you can't expect someone who doesn't know the difference between supercharged and N/A to keep maintenance up on a car like ours.

Re: s/c svx on craigslist

I've seen this before with the SVX, quite a few times actually.

It has to do with the Power mode. It's nearly always people who know sweet FA about engines. They know when they floor the wellie the Power Mode light comes on and the car goes whoosh, and they rationalise this as being the onset of a supercharger or sometimes they think it's a turbocharger.

In the many cases I've seen through the years they don't seem to be trying to deceive, I think in most cases they just don't know any better.

Re: s/c svx on craigslist

Its back again
This time the front ad says $15000, then when you read the rest he's asking $1500.
I sent him a email explaining what a SC is on a SVX, but in the meantime, feel free to flag his ad.

Re: s/c svx on craigslist

wouldn't the easiest thing be to just ask for a picture of the engine?

The listing is gone, but in the most recent one it had pics of the engine.
It was all stock from the looks of it.
