Hood latch stuck

Went to get my SVX out of storage and I expected the battery to be low, but it was dead and I could not get the hood to unlatch. Underdash release gets tight, but hood doesn't unlatch. What next?

Re: Hood latch stuck

Spray it with some PB blaster and let it sit for a little bit. It probably oxidized while in storage. Spray it through the grill opening.

Ditto. Good advice.

For future reference, I have my Cavalier in storage, and I leave the hood unlatched all the time just to prevent this sort of issue.

Re: Hood latch stuck

Get somebody to push down on the front of the hood, while you pull the release.

Harvey.

What He said,
OR have somebody pull UP on the hood while you pull the release!
