And as he mentioned, so far no one has been able to find a new solution for those other than dealer.

My trunk struts were $40 each but they were bought when there was a 20% off special so I paid less than that. Subaruparts.com will run that once or twice a year so I usually wait for it.

I love how the trunk opens and closes now, nice and gentle.

Re: All We'll Drive Hood Struts

I'd love to replace the trunk struts. It'd be great to retire that 2x4 also.

The broom handle that I used to keep handy to hold up my hood, was reused this past summer to stake a tomato plant. Pounding that into the ground felt pretty damn good I must say.

Re: All We'll Drive Hood Struts

I use a pair of cheap vice grips on bad struts, the struts are hard enough that the vice grips don't even leave a mark. I always keep vice grips with me at the junkyard just for hood struts.

Re: All We'll Drive Hood Struts

You can buy these struts from NAPA for about $30 something (if memory serves correct) for both of them. I'll try to find the link. It was posted here a while back and it worked out great. There was a slight mod needed. You have to cut off the old brackets where it mounts to the fender and reuse them.

Re: All We'll Drive Hood Struts

Are you still doing these? I want to get another set to put in my dad's svx for a xmas present.
Also need an address to send the cores too. And do you need the whole strut for a core or just the mounts?
Thanks!

Hello and apologies for this being my first post, but I just bought an SVX (dare I say "my first SVX"?) and hood struts top my list. The allwelldrive web site requires a login, makes it kind of tough to see the product. Anywhoo I'd like to learn more if someone would be so kind as to lend a n00b a clue.

(Not a Sube n00b, the SVX is my third.)

Re: All We'll Drive Hood Struts

Allwelldrive is closing down, unfortunately. You may still be able to get some. I just put some on my 92 and they are amazing. They hold the hood open, they require less effort to open the hood, and they are well worth the money.

Good luck

We are no longer building these. The All We'll Drive website has been closed. This has been discussed.
