Powder Coated parts

I am sending a large amount of parts off to powder for an engine build/restoration I am putting together. Anyone need any parts coated?? I will likely have cores for just about anything you want done.

Re: Powder Coated parts

Per our conversation, do they do the engine block and heads in silver wrinkle and how much? If prohibitively expensive, how about a silver wrinkle intake manifold?

I really liked the soft, even texture of Mike's black wrinkle finish on his engine block.

When would you need to know?

My PM box is not full...

Re: Powder Coated parts

John, I will call and ask this week. We have a great powder that almost matches the wheels, but it is not a wrinkle finish. I will find out for you. I have a couple manifolds here it would be easy. The block would need to be stripped and reassembled less the roatating assembly which will take a little time

Re: Powder Coated parts

Tom, my wheels are beginning to bubble and would like to have them done in the original color. Do you have any idea how much that would be? I'm just south of you a few miles and could leave the car there while the work is being done. Thanks...Jim

I will get a quote for 4 wheels as well. We have plenty here so really all you would need to do is get the tires swapped over

Forgot to say I need you to do a little maintenance on the '97 as well. Would be a good time to do that.

Re: Powder Coated parts

About much would it be to get a chrome powder coated intake manifold? (can they do chrome?) Not the middle part that will be covered with the plastics if that saves any money.

Re: Powder Coated parts

Just a guess Tom how much would a black, wrinkle finish intake manifold be? Or even the dark silver like you had on your old intake to maf?

YT,
The scorpion intake and valve covers in a wrinkle black or wrinkle aluminum would be nice

Re: Powder Coated parts

Ive got a quick question about powder coating?
If lets say you got a clean shiney steel rim powder coated, would it stop it from rusting after a while?
Or can you get it zinc plated then powder coated so that it doesnt rust for a very long time but still looks good?

Re: Powder Coated parts

My powder coater brought up that the wrinkle-coated parts trap more dust and dirt and are harder to clean than a smooth coat. He did acknowledge that they do reduce the appearance of scratches however.

Re: Powder Coated parts

YT,
May I suggest you post a list of what people are requesting? That might create a bit more interest too ....

BTW, I assume your coater takes care of cleaning the part really well, or will YOU have to do that?

Thanks,
Harry
