ac low and high pressure valve location
I had the intention of adding some refrigerant to my car as i recently found out it had been retrofitted looking at the attachments on the two valves. But, The low fitting in on the side of the compressor... and the high is attached to the drier canister? I think that is the right term. Anyway, so, unscrewed the plastic cap on the low side, the valve right by the compressor. right when i was twisting it off, the refrigerant is coming out... so i forced the cap back on. So that is prob the reason for my ac not working. Just wondering if the fittings are placed in the wrong places? So if anyone knows he position of these give me some input. Thanks

Re: ac low and high pressure valve location
hi it sounds like your car has been retro fitted for r 134a ,if its lost its charge look for oil around the triany switch in the liquid line to the right side of the radiator ,its a very comman place for leaks

Sounds like the valve core inside the low pressure fitting is kaput. You can pick up new ones at most auto parts store. During the conversion, I *think* you're suppose to remove the R12 valve cores before installing the R134a fittings. These new fittings come with their own valve cores. I wonder if the new valve cores are not tight enough? These cores are just like the valve cores inside your tire valve stem and uses the same tool! High fitting at the drier and the low fitting near the A/C comp so your setup sounds good to me. As the above post states, not a bad idea to check for leaks around the Trinay switch.
